Morning Rush 19/04/10

Gosh...when was the last morning rush?

NTU Prof grabbing a student's ass. It seems that news is constantly coming from NTU, but this time, it's no more suicide or stabbing, but still unpleasant.

Old man walks around bedok interchange, dropped his pants, shitted, then walk around with his pants down. I don't know how to feel except to feel sorry for the person cleaning the shit up.

ACS vs SAS in a game of rugby+sports brawl. You know what I like about these fights? It's better than the game itself.

Ok...back to work. Have a nice week ahead!

Morning Rush CNY

It's the first day of CNY, will you be taking your own car for transport of BMW(Bus, MRT & Walk)?

OK, jokes aside, this year I still haven't got my car yet, but I will the next year. The car will be on my list of NYR. Just in case you're interested, take a look at my NYR.

In case you just came to Singapore, Chinese New Year is a festive season when we go and visit our relatives and friends, exchange red packets(I give your children, you give my children) and most importantly, to catch up.

However, there will be some key activities that you will experience during CNY in Singapore. They are:

I think I should change the name of this column to TGIF...

We should try this one day with the china girls next door.

Do you trust your government? Yup, I trust them to 1) raise GST every year, 2) raise public transport fares every year 3) raise CPF minimum sum every year, 4) do all that and still be elected every year. Yes we can.

Airshow highlights.

Flash games inspired by 10 years of celebrities scandals. My personal favourite? Kanye vs.Taylor.

Least important but most interesting: Poly girl flashes to find sugar daddy. Have a nice weekend squeezing your way thru buses and trains!

Mustafa fined for fire safety hazard because it's too overcrowded. And it's not the 1st time. I think the government is trying to get a piece of their profits.

Morning Rush 04/01/10: Year 2009 in Summary

After a long holiday break, let's summarize Singapore in the whole 2009...

What was the highlight of 2009 in Singapore? Nothing. Things still go on in our MRTs and Buses, people still complain about small little things. Perhaps the only entertainment was to watch our dear leaders lose our CPF money in their investments and Gary Ng.

Singapore is so shielded from world events to the extend that even when there's a 7.6-magnitude earthquake nearby, we only feel a slight tremor. In fact, most of us can't even feel it. If our CPF contributions are lost through Temasek Holding's and GIC's investments, it'll take us generations before we might see the government default on their CPF payout - a catastrophic event that I hope will not happen in our generation. The next closest catastrophic event that we've had was perhaps StarhubTV subscribers losing their EPL overnight.

Let's come back to the streets where most of Singapore's rambling goes on. Remember there was a

Serangoon dormitory is opened for business. And...

Serangoon Gardens residents are still jumpy about it. They are really, really scared that the foreign workers would give alot of problems. Their worries are not unjustified - you like foreign workers to stay near your house? I don't know about you, but I study in a local Uni and I feel like a foreigner myself.

No durians, no fine - Did you know this? Unlike other contraband items on the MRT, durians will not get you a fine. However, if you fart durian smell, they're gonna bring you to the security room and confiscate your durians, beat you up, and eat all your durians. You still have the chance to escape if they report you to the police for other contrabands but no chance for durians.

This is the reason why people fight on the road. Again, please don't try anything funny like this because 1) Singapore is too small for your big clumsy family car and 2) there are so many STOMPERS out there with nothing but time and a camera phone on their hands.

We start off the week with some nonsense happening on the streets of our city.

Plain clothes warden? Got such things?

"Hey I was trying to help!" - A man fined $3000 for putting up his own banners of Mas Selamat. Like us, he thought that the police poster wasn't good enough and improvised. This is what the chinese say, "厉害就好,不要假厉害。"

Traffic Police camp outside Republic Poly and stupid student biker,  who was caught, whining on STOMP. Like got use.

Hello uncle you're on the wrong road - Now, for $10, you can take a cab along the stretch of East Coast Park cycling track if you think the ECP is too slow for you.

Today some changes are going on in Singapore as you were busy TGIF-ing.

Google Street View Singapore is up! Now you can pretend to be a tourist and tour the whole map of Singapore in 3D. Here's a pic I've taken:

BMT is going to increase a few weeks for the obese and those excuse-this-and-that-one. Not much changes except a few weeks more on the Pulau Tekong Chalet. You know what this means? Nothing, cause most of us have already ORDed.

Uniqlo is going to expand in Singapore with more and bigger stores in the heartlands. Apparently they are trying to corner the whole Singapore urban clothing market and they are very serious about this. At this moment there is probably 3 out of 4 Singapore youths with something in their closet that belongs to Uniqlo. Their penetration is only 2nd to the SAF no. 4. I believe that they will soon catch up.

Man pays $1,500 to touch 2 asses was working in a mortuary and molested 2 of his colleagues. The man is a technical officer with HSA. He could have saved a thousand bucks if he had gone Geylang. Full service somemore.

Morning Rush 03/12/09

Ok, exams are over for now, but I still take the stupid overcrowded train filled with all sorts of people. Today, let's share some MRT & street stories people post online.

Singer on tour - This was captured by a Stomper. I don't like Stompers because they are wannabes. But this is too good to miss. A guy SOL on the train who could care less the number of people watching and getting chills down their spine. Of course, bearing in mind that he may be mentally disabled, I have to act all sensitive and say "I'm sorry but I couldn't help."

Pervert who got away - Apparently, some guy caught a pervert sticking his dick out against a clueless girl who was too busy texting her dunno-who to notice a dickhead touching her. This guy hustled the pervert to the control station but the staff down there thinks he's all worked up and called the police just to entertain the hero. A few seconds later, with the MRT staff standing beside the pervert, he disappears. That's what inspired our hero to post on STOMP.

Morning Rush

Today I'm going to share some observations, as usual, in our Singapore MRTs.

Now we have Phua Chu Kang and his wife owning the priority seat ad placements.

mrt pck Pictures, Images and Photos

Photobucket

Nice effort there. The priority seat one is no longer needed, because now everyone is giving up their seat to everyone. As for the "Let me come out first!" It's only seen along the NE line. Did you see any on the EW line? If you do, place a comment.

Anyway, I feel that we have improved alot for the past 1 year in our public transport courtesy. Even a chaotah-hair contractor knows how to give up his seat for those who need it. No, I'm not being sarcastic, but I really feel that we did very well as a nation. Even though I still don't get to walk at 100mph and still get touched by men and women of foreign origin on trains, please, give yourself a round of applause.

I hope PCK will come out of the train and push everyone who walks at 10mph to the left side, or even ask everyone to keep still there inside the train. But I think that by the time we see that, I would be getting a car and this morning rush column will appear in a completely new set of crap.

Until then, this are just my observation of the Morning Rush and it really, really makes my journey worthwhile everyday.
